Members of the Ohio National Guard play soccer with children in the village of Vale do Paraiso during the PAMBALA 2017 medical exercise Dec. 12, 2017, in Bengo Province, Angola. PAMBALA is the first-ever trilateral combined medical engagement to take place in the Republic of Angola, and consist of a four-day clinical operations mission focusing on services like preventative medicine, pediatrics, family practice, dermatology, optometry, dentistry, and obstetrics and gynecology at various field hospitals in the province. The engagement aims to build the foundation for future engagements between the U.S. and Angola, and enhance the 11-year partnership the Ohio National Guard has with the Republic of Serbia through the National Guard State Partnership Program.
