A contract crew works to clear curbside debris from Hurricane Maria in a residential neighborhood in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico Jan. 10 as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers debris management mission.
The debris is separated by type. Vegetative debris collected in Guaynabo is taken to the Los Alamos Temporary Debris Reduction Site to be processed into mulch, while non-vegetative debris is taken to a landfill in Toa Baja for permanent disposal.
