Personnel assigned to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) screen sediment retrieved from the ocean floor for human remains or other evidence during a recovery mission off the north central coast of Vietnam. Three recovery teams are searching at burial and underwater sites for 13 Americans that remain unaccounted-for from the Vietnam War. The mission of JPAC is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of all Americans missing as a result of the nation's past conflicts.
