U.S. Army retired Lt. Gen. Robert F. Foley talks about the conditions facing leaders on the ground during Operation Attleboro to 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment "Wolfhounds" in a Leader Professional Development brief on Schofield Barracks, Hi., Jan. 18, 2018. During Operation Attleboro, then a Captain, Foley was ordered by U.S. Army Maj. Sandy Meloy to extricate a besieged company. He was ordered to attack through what looked like a gap in the enemy's line, but no gap presented itself, and an intense firefight took place. Foley's heroic actions during the operation earned him the Medal of Honor. (U.S. Army photo by 1st Lt. Ryan DeBooy)
