(Jan. 12, 2018) A Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) course participant applies a tourniquet to stop the massive hemorrhaging of a simulated patient that is portrayed by a mannequin. Once immediate life-threatening ailments were addressed, participants moved their simulated patient to the designated safe zone. TCCC is a course required by the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery for all corpsmen that helps prepare them to respond to the injuries in theater and on the battlefield.
