ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 12, 2018) An MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Vipers of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48 launches from the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98). Forrest Sherman is underway as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX), which evaluates the strike group’s ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea, ultimately certifying the HSTCSG for deployment.
