Johnnie Webb, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Outreach and Communications deputy director, briefs U.S. Army 1st Lt. Bradley Patterson about the DPAA mission and the identification process at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 9, 2018. Patterson came to the DPAA Laboratory to collect the remains of his grandfather, U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Harry E. Harkness, who was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 8th Calvary Regiment when he was killed in the winter of 1950 during combat near Unsan, North Korea. Patterson will serve as the Special U.S. Army Escort for his grandfather during transport to the final resting place for Harkness. DPAA conducts global search, recovery and laboratory operations to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
