U.S. Army 1st. Lt. Bradley Patterson, left, is briefed by Dr. Jennie Jin, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) anthropologist, on the findings of the identification of his lost grandfather, U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Harry E. Harkness, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 9, 2018. Patterson came to the DPAA Laboratory to collect the remains of his grandfather who was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 8th Calvary Regiment when he was killed in the winter of 1950 during combat near Unsan, North Korea. Patterson will serve as the Special U.S. Army Escort for his grandfather during transport to the final resting place for Harkness.
