Randall Gifford, a, ammunition technician for the 452nd Ordnance Company, a Reserve unit from Aberdeen, S.D., removes a chain of unserviceable blank .50 caliber ammunition from its can before tossing it in the pit where the small arms ammunition will be burned. The 452nd Ordnance Company carried out a demilitarization operation where all Condition Code E and Condition Code H (unserviceable) ammunition were properly disposed of in the most efficient manner.
