180508-N-KH214-0009 OAK HARBOR, Wash. (May 8, 2018) Participants in the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) freeze mob hold messages representing survivors' voices at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI) Navy Exchange to raise awareness of the month-long event and sexual assault. The 2018 SAAPM theme of "Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission" focused on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and a personal commitment from all service members at every level, and NASWI helped raise awareness of this theme and sexual assault prevention by hosting numerous events that encouraged participation from all the commands on base.
