180508-N-KH214-0188 OAK HARBOR, Wash. (May 8, 2018) Sailors hold lit candles during the sunset candlelight vigil held at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI) chapel as part of the 2018 Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). The 2018 SAAPM theme of "Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission" focused on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and a personal commitment from all service members at every level, and NASWI helped raise awareness of this theme and sexual assault prevention by hosting numerous events that encouraged participation from all the commands on base.
