Baton Rouge, Louisiana, May 9, 2018 - FEMA Administrator Brock Long speaks with local, state, and federal officals during the Hurricane Awareness Tour (HAT) stop at the Baton Rough Metropolitan Airport. The HAT, hosted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS), has been conducted for over 35 years and is a vital part of the annual campaign to raise public awareness and preparation for the approaching hurricane season. The public had the opportunity to meet NOAA’s Hurricane Hunter pilots and flight crew, tour the aircrafts, speak with hurricane forecasters, and walk through exhibits to learn about weather safety & preparedness.
