    Baton Rouge, Louisiana, May 9, 2018 – National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Gulfstream IV-SP (G-IV) aircraft nicknamed "Gonzo" at the Hurricane Awareness Tour (HAT) stop at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. This plane is used for hurricane forecasting and research and it flies around developing tropical cyclones to share a pictures of the surrounding atmosphere. The HAT, hosted by NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS), has been conducted for over 35 years and is a vital part of the annual campaign to raise public awareness and preparation for the approaching hurricane season.
