Maj. Gen. Thomas Conant, the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing commanding general, talks with Coast Guard Lts. Dave McCarthy and Adam Young, both MH-60T Jayhawk pilots, at Coast Guard Sector San Diego Aug. 18. Conant visited the Coast Guardsmen to thank them for their assistance in rescuing two F/A-18 pilots in the early hours of Aug. 11. Coast Guard, Navy and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing units all assisted in the search after communication with the aircrew was lost.
