Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski, a Somerville, New Jersey native with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s Service Pistol Team, stands at the ready in the rain during The Falling Plate Event at the 2018 Bianchi Cup in Columbia, Missouri May 25. The three-day, four-event action pistol competition drew more than 160 competitors from eight countries and 33 states. Sokolowski not only claimed 2nd Place Overall in the preceding World Action Pistol Championships and 1st Place in the Multigun Match, but the overall Bianchi Cup Champion title by seizing the Open Division and making history as the first shooting sports athlete in 40 years of the competition to win all three divisions—Production, Metallic and Open—in three consecutive years.
