U.S. Army First Class Gunner Angelo A. Rizzo’s World War I artifacts are on display at the Harbor Defense Museum at Fort Hamilton, New York. Rizzo was a radioman of the 59th Artillery, Coastal Artillery Corps, and served during World War I on the European Western Front. His wartime story is chronicled and on display at the museum via his diary and a recreated map. As the U.S. Army celebrates it’s 243rd Birthday June 14, 2018, it will also celebrate the efforts of Soldiers like Rizzo by commemorating the 100-year anniversary of America’s involvement in World War I.
