170404-A-FJ530-1633 Pearl Harbor (July 4, 2018) Joint and combined leaders of Rim of the Pacific exercise discuss the concept of the U.S. Army Multi Domain Task Force pilot program during a fires symposium on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, July 2. The fires symposium hosted by senior leaders of I Corps, 17th Field Artillery Brigade the lead for the U.S. Army MDTF pilot program informed ally and partner maritime forces of the capabilities that the MDTF provides to RIMPAC 2018 in order to work toward full joint integration. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world’s oceans.
