180713-G-ZV557-1092 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 13, 2018) Crew from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) and the Maritime Security Response Team-West (MSRT) approach guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) to conduct boarding exercises during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, July 13. Twenty-five nations, more than 46 ships and 5 submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
