Pfc. Tyus Hymes, a native of Hemet, Calif., assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, Task Force Blackhawk, moves steaming-hot chicken from a cooking pot to a serving pan at Combat Outpost Waza Khwa. The pot had recently been pulled from an improvised barbeque pit. Hymes uses food thermometers to ensure all items are cooked to the proper temperature before being served for that day's menu.
