SAN DIEGO-- Carmen Concepcion, Associate Director of Patient Care Service and Nurse Executive for VA San Diego Healthcare System, Rev. Larry Taylor, Chief of Chaplain Service for VA San Diego Healthcare System, Rev. Michelle Kirby, supervisor of the Clinical Pastoral Education program at VA San Diego Healthcare System, and Capt. Mil Yi, chaplain for Navy Medicine West, display a certificate signifying the accreditation of the VA-DOD CPE program during a graduation ceremony for resident Department of Defense and Veteran's Administration chaplains who had completed the year-long Clinical Pastoral Education Residency Program at the San Diego VA Medical Center. The program, which is a joint DoD/VA enterprise, incorporates more than 1,600 hours of instruction and supervised clinical practice to help chaplains specialize in clinical pastoral care.
