U.S. Navy Capt. Spencer T. Schoen, commanding officer of 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, examines the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Health utilities and medical bays during a tour of their facilities at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, California, October 3, 2018. In a Memorandum of Agreement, UCI Health partners with the sailors of 1st Medical Battalion to bring physicians, surgeons and corpsman to their campus to train with their faculty members. This partnership better prepares our forces by giving them the opportunity to sharpen their medical skills.
