U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Douglas Moye, a 773d Logistics Readiness Squadron combat mobility technician supervisor, braids G-12 cargo parachute lines into a daisy chain at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, drop zone Oct. 3, 2018. When air drop training occurs, combat mobility technicians are called upon to operate as malfunction officers at the drop zone. In addition to scouting, technicians are also responsible to recover the loads and parachutes using specific field-packing methods to keep them from getting torn or ripped.
