181005-N-GM597-018 - Michael Mitchell: Michael Mitchell is a lead nurse educator in the Simulation Healthcare and Bio Skills Training Center and is a key trainer and supervisor of the Tactical Combat Casualty Care course. He has provided excellent, high-quality training that directly supports NMCP’s readiness mission and quality lifesaving care for the Emergency Department, General Surgery, and Pediatrics, as well as for a number of other commands. He introduced the “Stop the Bleed” course, which teaches how to handle trauma emergencies. He went out of his way to teach the course to all security staff who are assigned to the gate, as well as staff assigned to NMCP’s branch health clinics and TRICARE Prime Clinics. Never satisfied with the status quo, he also created a schedule to enhance training opportunities for “Code Blue” drills and additional detailed hands-on training for 20 students in the Simulation Center.
