A recruit from Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, strikes tires during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Oct. 16. Recruits were taught different moves during Marine Corps Martial Arts Program classes, and they learned offensive and defensive techniques Marines use in combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate Nov. 30.
