Lance Cpl. Kolten Crouse, an expeditionary airfield technician with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), wraps food aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), underway in the South China Sea, Oct. 9, 2018. Crouse, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in December 2015; he enlisted February 2016. A variety of Marines within the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit get temporary additional duties while aboard the Wasp; such as, mess deck, combat cargo, and disposal technicians. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide-range of military operations in the Indo-Pacific region.
