ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 4, 2018) Aviation Electronics Mate 3rd Class John Holden assists in an engine wash for an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter from the Grandmasters of Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 46 aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94) while Nitze participates in a Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) carrier strike group (CSG) cruiser-destroyer (CRUDES) units are conducting the first East Coast CRUDES SWATT. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center *(SMWDC) and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality and interoperability of participating units.
