ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 12, 2018) Navy Counselor 1st Class Richard Kichler stands starboard lookout watch aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94) as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Mason (DDG 87), USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), and the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) follow behind. USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) cruiser-destroyer (CRUDES) units are completing the first East Coast CRUDES Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality and interoperability of participating units.
