The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) brings home the remains of unidentified U.S. service members from the Battle of Tarawa during an honorable carry following the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the battle, Joint Base Pearl-Harbor Hickam, Nov. 20, 2018. The remains of these unknowns recovered from the island of Betio in the Republic of Kiribati will be processed for possible identification at the DPAA laboratory.
