A recruit with Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, crosses an obstacle during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 4. Recruits were expected to practice discipline by pushing their bodies through every obstacle. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Feb 1.
