Three soldiers of the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, light candles as part of the non-commissioned officer induction ceremony held by the 1st ACB at the USO here Dec. 10. The red candle was lit to symbolize the valor of a non-commissioned officer. The white candle was lit to symbolize the integrity, purity and honesty a non-commissioned officer stands for. The blue candle was lit to symbolize the vigilance and the field of honor in which an non-commissioned officer serves. Soldiers and other coalition forces gathered here to watch the ceremony as more than 40 newly promoted sergeants were officially inducted into the corps of non-commissioned officers.
