Dancers perform the Shishi Mai, or Lion Dog dance, during the Okinawan Dance Appreciation Night hosted by the Marine Corps Community Services at the Fine Arts Appreciation Theater on Camp Foster Nov. 25. The lion dogs were adopted from the Chinese during the Ryukyu Kingdom period. The dance is traditionally performed for New Years, holidays and other celebrations.
