U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Critical Incident Stress Management, or CISM, team members Morgan O’Brien, Seattle District, and Deryck Rodgers, Louisville District, talk with members of the temporary emergency power team from Walla Walla District Nov. 25, 2017, at the incident support base on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. CISM is a program designed to provide peer support in response to stressful work environment incidents to Corps employees. The team provides an atmosphere of concern and caring as well as identifying personal options for dealing with stress. O’Brien and Rodgers are nearing the end of a three week deployment to the U.S. Virgin Islands where they visited the three islands of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix and talked to the nearly 200 Corps employees deployed at the time for response and recovery in support of hurricanes Irma and Maria.
