Cpl. Marisela Martinez received a free Christmas trees Dec. 8 donated by Trees for Troops. The Spirit of Christmas foundation funds the Christmas trees by accepting donations throughout the year, said Christine Deboer, marketing manager, Marine Corps Community Services. FedEx delivered 200 trees to MCRD, free of charge, and MCCS put the event together. Every active duty member that wanted a free tree could get it on a first-come first-serve bases. All 200 Christmas trees were gone by the end of the event.
