Gabriel, distinguished service cross (DSC), the Military Attaché with the Australian Embassy, Washington, D.C. speaks with U.S. Navy Capt. Ron Dowdell, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) (left), and Senior Chief Ellis Charles, aviation boatswain mate handling, about the Boxer’s aircraft handling and storage. The purpose of the tour was to familiarize Brigadier S. L. Gabriel (DSC) with the capabilities of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Amphibious Ready Group FIVE (CPR-5), and specifically the role the 11th MEU Australian exchange program officers play therein. The Marines and Sailors of the 11th MEU are conducting routine operations as a part of USS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) in the eastern Pacific Ocean. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
