Pvt. Steven Peralta from 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division requests a nine-line medical evacuation for a notional casualty during a Combat Lifesaver Course at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, March 8, 2019. CLS was a week-long course that taught non-medical soldiers the extended emergency first aid in combat conditions. The purpose of CLS is for situations where a medic may not be available to treat the wounded, so a CLS certified soldier can step in and treat the wounded in combat conditions and also be able to have them evacuated to higher medical care. The soldier portraying the patient is Pvt. Aaron Jude, he is also from 1-16.(U.S. Army photo by Spc. Yon Trimble)
