    358th Public Affairs Detachment

    Pfc. Jalen R. Hill from 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division checks the breathing of his partner in this exercise during a Combat Lifesaver Course at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, March 8, 2019. CLS was a week-long course that taught non-medical soldiers the extended emergency first aid in combat conditions. The soldier portraying the patient is Pvt. Guillermo A. Ahumada, he is also from 1-16. Both soldiers are 11B (infantrymen). Combat lifesavers are non-medical personnel who have been trained to provide immediate medical care until medics can arrive/treat the wounded. Ahumada is from Los Angeles, CA. Hill is from Louisville, KY.
