Firefighters with the 169th Civil Engineering Squadron at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., respond to a simulated aircraft mishap with a crashed F-16 fighter jet and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during a crash, damaged, destroyed aircraft recovery exercise, Jan. 31, 2012. Pilots and crew members were extracted from the Black Hawk by rescue responders and transported to triage area for emergency medical technicians. The training was important for all personnel involved due to the reality of the scenario, with the base sharing both air frames.
