Tech. Sgt. Greg Ludwig and Tech. Sgt. Chad Marks, crew chiefs with the 169th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., respond to a simulated aircraft mishap with a crashed F-16 fighter jet and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during a Crash, Damaged, Destroyed Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) exercise on Jan. 31, 2012. Ludwig and Marks remove panels from the jet so that it may be hooked to a crane and transported from the accident sight. The training was important for all personnel involved due to the reality of the scenario, with the base sharing both air frames.
