STARBASE Los Alamitos instructor and rocketry coach Tim Ziesmer talks with his team, March 13, 2019, at the at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California, campus after a set of practice launches for the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) competition. Ziesmer says he loves the problem solving aspect of TARC and enjoys watching his teen rocket scientists take their competition rockets from concept through the build process and launch. STARBASE Los Alamitos, which is located on the base, is one of two DoD STARBASE campuses facilitated by the California Military Department's Youth and Community Programs Task Force.
