A rocket designed and built from scratch by students on the STARBASE Los Alamitos Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) team ignites and launches, March 13, 2019, during a practice launch at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California. The team is making and testing final design modifications as they prepare to launch qualification flights for a possible berth in the TARC National Fly Offs in May. STARBASE Los Alamitos, which is located on the base, is one of two DoD STARBASE campuses facilitated by the California Military Department's Youth and Community Programs Task Force.
