Sheiks from across central and southern Iraq gathered in the house of Emir Rabi’a Mohammad al-Habib al-Rabi’a in Al Kut, Iraq to meet with Maj. Gen. Bernard Champoux, commander of the 25th Infantry Division and Col. Scott Efflandt, commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Sep. 24, 2011. During its deployment, the 1st Cavalry Division brigade worked to continue to develop an enduring partnership with Iraqis while simultaneously closing down three of the last U.S. bases in Iraq.
