It's not Abbey Road and the Beatles, but Airmen from Tinker Air Force Base's First Term Airmen Center are captured crossing the road in the music/entertainment district of downtown Oklahoma City during a special tour hosted by the OKC Convention and Visitors Bureau on March 8, 2019. An initiative to bring the military and civilian communities closer together began in January 2019 and allows Airmen to go downtown where they ride the new OKC Streetcar for free, while learning about important landmarks, attractions and even where free parking is located. The downtown tour has quickly become a welcome capstone to the FTAC curriculum and, over time, should help integrate the military members with the community faster and smoother.
