U.S. Navy Seaman Jordan Munson holds the ladder steady for U.S. Navy Seaman Mathew Gurrera in San Pedro, Moncada, Tarlac, Philippines, during Exercise Balikatan, March 26, 2019. Balikatan is an annual exercise between the U.S. and the Philippines and comes from a Tagalog phrase meaning "shoulder-to-shoulder," representing the partnership between the two countries. The U.S. Navy and Philippine Army are constructing a new medical facility for the local community. Balikatan’s humanitarian and civic assistance activities enable Philippine and U.S. service members to get to know each other and provide support to local communities. Munson, an equipment operator construction-man, and Gurrera, a builder construction-man, are with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, U.S. Navy. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Elizabeth Johnson)
