This M1087 Expandable Van Shelter was used during 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team’s command post exercise March 18-21, 2019, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. These expando vans are being integrating into units such as the 1-2 SBCT to assess different configurations. The units will then provide feedback on operational suitability and functionality. This is part of the Army’s modernization strategy to make Soldiers and units more lethal to win the nation’s wars. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt Samuel Northrup)
