Spc. Quayshaun Denson, an allied trade specialist with 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, manufactures a bracket for use in an M1087 Expandable Van Shelter March 14, 2019, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. These expando vans are being integrating into units such as the 1-2 SBCT to assess different configurations units construct for their operational needs. The van’s overall design decreases setup and teardown time while increasing mobility of command posts so units can rapidly react to near-peer enemy threats. This is part of the Army’s modernization strategy to make Soldiers and units more lethal to win the nation’s wars. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt Samuel Northrup)
