U.S. Marines Lance Cpl. Scott Jarvis, a meteorology and oceanology (METOC) observer, and Sgt. Daniel Cheek with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, create weather reports for the air station, North Carolina, Feb. 15, 2019. METOC observers are tasked with producing and releasing 24-hour weather reports that are updated every six hours. These reports include air pressure, temperature, dew point, and other information about the weather which help determine safety conditions and working conditions.
