HAMBANTOTA, Sri Lanka - (April 24, 2019) A hand salute between the two leaders of U.S and Sri Lanka Navy elements were rendered at the conclusion of 2019 CARAT exercise. U.S. Navy Capt. Eric Correll, right, and Sri Lanka Navy Capt. HNS Perera jointly decided to pause the exercise due to the Easter Sunday attacks in the capital city and other places in Sri Lanka on Sun., April 21.
"The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partners in the INDO-PACOM AOR and we will diligently with them to find the best date to resume what we have planned," said U.S. Navy Capt.
