Mr. Kenneth Gross, who role plays the U.S. Consulate General, and his team of role players that replicate Department of State officials, local politicians, and non-governmental organizations explains to students from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs Center for International Security Studies how the Joint Readiness Training Center exercises all capabilities in a brigade combat team so that all instruments of national power can be leveraged against a near peer adversary. All of the interagency role players have extensive experience working for DoS or non-governmental organizations. They emphasized three themes for units to be successful: inter-organizational cooperation, country and bad actor frameworks, and the importance of the DoS and DoD to be seen and heard as one voice.
