A category three Mine Resistant Ambushed Protected vehicle, nicknamed the “Buffalo,” uses its modified arm to uncover an improvised explosive device during Enhanced Mojave Viper at the Combat Center, Feb. 7. Marines of Mobility Assault Company, 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, conducted the route clearance scenarios to challenge the individual combat skills of the Marines in a realistic environment similar to the hardships and obstacles faced by service members in Afghanistan. The training package is the final exercise and evaluation of 1st CEB in preparation for an upcoming deployment. (Courtesy photo by 1st Lt. Jeffry Park)
