Maj. Michael Bustos, Task Force Saber executive officer, issues commands from a simulated cavalry mount while the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade unit presents gold combat spurs on Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Jeffrey Cheeks, Task Force Saber commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Frankie Woods flank the executive officer during the March 2 ceremony, in which troopers earned gold spurs for serving more than 30 days with the unit in a combat zone. As if to illustrate the meaning behind the ceremony, medevac and Apache crews were forced to break ranks for an urgent mission while the ceremony was ongoing.
